Have you ever studied the growth rings in a tree trunk? They tell a story – the life story of that tree and what it overcame to grow and prosper.
Trees grow a new ring for each year of life, but they aren’t all the same size. In years of ample rainfall and good weather, the rings are thick. During times of drought, the rings are thin. But even in those tough times, the tree still completed that circle, survived that year. Often, those rings are followed by thick, robust rings – life at its best.
Think about how that compares to your life – the years you have plenty compared to the years when the things you need for physical and emotional well-being are in short supply. Do you dig your roots deep enough to nourish those things that matter?
What would your growth rings say about you?
